Aaaand my last entry for the Venster Visual Story Aaaand my last entry for the Venster Visual Story Challenge! Week 4: Narrow escape.

I was a bit nervous to join actually, because of the time it would take. But as @majken_enequist_art also mentioned in Sunday’s post, the challenge helped to practice visual storytelling and experiment with new techniques. It was great to make up these short sequences and I surprised myself with some of the ideas I came up with.

It is amazing to see so many different interpretations of the prompts! Some of us go the lovely, wonderful and cute route, others explore more painful outcomes. Mine all lean towards the more wholesome vibe I suppose, even though I always tell myself I need to create more friction 🙈

Thanks everyone who joined or is still joining (please do!) ❤️

Had a lot of fun hosting with you!

Up to some mischief for week 3 of the Venster Visu Up to some mischief for week 3 of the Venster Visual Story Challenge! Promt: Illuminate

Another experiment with acrylic paint (and a bunch of other media on top :)). I loved this prompt for many reasons. I spend a lot of time conceptualising, just because there are many ways you can go with this. The literal interpretation of a light that illuminates something. I also played with the idea of something that comes to the surface that you hadn’t realised before. Or maybe a conflict within that presents itself. And then I circled back to a turned on light that illuminates these two characters are up to no good.

Getting better with painting light is and more specifically figuring out how I want to approach light and dark in my work is on my ‘skill to do list’. So this was a great opportunity to try something new!

On more week to go!! I’m so thankful for everyone not just joining with their own micro stories but also cheering on everybody else!

Also still working on hosting and making my micro stories for the #venstervisualstorychallenge2026, so probably won’t be able to do all flowers this week :(

Second week my characters end up nose to nose… Lets see if I can change that next week haha

Venster Visual Story Challenge Week 1: Curiosity Venster Visual Story Challenge Week 1: Curiosity

Meeting a new friend is really scary sometimes.

My plan for this challenge is to explore two characters I created a while ago but need some work. So they might change a bit during the month :) I’m also not sure yet what I want to do technique/material wise. This one is a combination of acrylic paint, pencil/crayon, collage and monoprint. I’m trying to become friends with acrylics, but not sure if we are meant to be. I like the painted texture, but do not always enjoy the sensory experience 😅 So I think I will use this challenge to play with different things and see what I end up with!

For this week I took my own advice (see add limitations post) to just focus on an expression.

On to the next!!
